Zalgo Text Generator

This zalgo text generator stacks combining marks on Latin letters so the line looks cursed, glitched, or “he comes.” You copy the result and paste it. It is still text — a base letter plus marks — not a video effect and not a font file. Short zalgo is more readable; heavy zalgo is a one-word burst.

Alphabet styles target Latin letters and digits. Effects may add marks or spacing to other characters, and Upside Down reverses the full line.

What is a zalgo text generator?

A zalgo text generator is a combining-mark machine. Each Latin letter stays a letter; the generator hangs extra Unicode marks above, through, and below it until the row looks corrupted. That look is popularly called zalgo, after the creepypasta that treated stacked diacritics as a horror texture. This zalgo text generator does not upload your sentence. It attaches a deterministic set of marks so the same input reprints the same cursed line — useful when you want to copy zalgo twice and get a match. Spaces stay clean so words do not fuse into one blot.

Zalgo is not the same job as the glitch text generator on this site. Glitch here is a catalog of corrupted-looking letter families (circuits, lightning, electric). A zalgo text generator is intensity: short, normal, and heavy stacks, plus a few sibling families if you want a milder cursed nick. Long zalgo overflows fields, breaks layout, and is hard to read. Prefer a short burst. Screen readers will not “read the vibe”; they may announce each mark. Do not hide a warning inside zalgo. Keep the real sentence in A–Z beside it. Creepypasta pages that dump a wall of zalgo are why some apps now strip marks. This zalgo text generator exists so you can pick a density that still behaves in a bio. If you needed cute compact letters, that is the little text generator, not zalgo. If a comment thread already uses short zalgo as a joke stamp, adding heavy zalgo on every reply is how layouts break and how filters learn to strip marks. Copy one cursed token from this zalgo text generator, not a stack of eight.

How to use the zalgo text generator

  1. Type a short word, not a paragraph

Enter a name or a three-word curse. A zalgo text generator gets unreadable fast in long sentences. Latin letters take marks; emoji and CJK usually stay plain. Keep a backup in regular letters so you can log in if a filter later strips the stack.

  2. Start with short zalgo

Short zalgo (one mark up, one down) still shows the word. Normal zalgo is a bio stamp. Heavy zalgo is a one-token explosion — fine in a comment, rude in a 12-pixel nick. If a style is already an unreadable blot on this page, it will be worse in Discord. Copy the line from this zalgo text generator that still shows the underlying letters. The marks on this page are deterministic: the same letters always pick the same stack, so a copied zalgo line matches if you generate it again.

  3. Copy and paste a short burst

Copy, then paste into a chat, bio, or display name that allows Unicode. If the field rejects it, the string is too long or the host strips combining marks — shorten it or drop to short zalgo. ASCII logins will never keep zalgo. On a phone, long-press Paste, then check the real field, not only this preview.

Zalgo styles you can generate

  1. 1. Short zalgo

The readable default. One mark above and below.

  2. 2. Zalgo

Normal cursed stack for a short name or stamp.

  3. 3. Heavy zalgo

    Maximum marks. One word only.

  4. 4. Glitchy circuits

Corrupted catalog family if zalgo is too dense.

  5. 5. Circuits

    Milder broken-electronics look.

  6. 6. Electric

    Spark-like combining texture.

  7. 7. Lightning

A jagged sibling of zalgo for one token.

  8. 8. Inverse curse

Lighter inverted family; check missing glyphs.

  9. 9. Tilded

Wave marks without a full zalgo stack.

  10. 10. Underline zalgo-adjacent

A single combining underline when stacks are banned.

  11. 11. Strikethrough

A line through the word; often survives more filters.

  12. 12. Skullies

Decorative cursed family for a one-glyph stamp.

Where to use a zalgo text generator

Horror captions and comments

A short zalgo stamp under a plain caption is the usual job. A whole paragraph of heavy zalgo is a layout bomb and a moderation magnet. Leave hashtags in A–Z. This zalgo text generator is for a burst, not a novel.

Discord nicknames

Short zalgo can paste into a display name. Heavy zalgo will clip, wrap, or get filtered. If a bot strips combining marks, your nick will collapse to the base letters — that is the filter, not a failed zalgo text generator. Never zalgo the login email. If friends see a taller line that covers the next nick in the list, you used heavy zalgo in a 12-pixel row. Switch to short zalgo from this zalgo text generator.

Game tags

Many launchers reject combining marks in account IDs. Some in-game chat boxes keep a short zalgo token. Test a three-letter sample. Keep the real ID plain so you can still search your own profile.

Bios

Instagram’s 150-character bio counts every mark. Heavy zalgo can burn the budget on one word. Short zalgo plus plain keywords is the mix that still saves. If the save fails, drop marks before you drop the name.

Zalgo on phones, Discord, and bios

Combining marks are real Unicode. Coverage is broad on current iPhone and Android for common diacritics, weaker for rare ones. A box or a stacked mess that clips the next line is a font/layout limit. Short zalgo fails less often than heavy zalgo. We did not invent a “safe mark count” for every app — preview the actual field. Some Android skins clip combining marks that extend above the line-height of a chat bubble. If the top of the zalgo is missing, the glyph is there — the bubble is too short. Short zalgo avoids that clip more often than heavy zalgo.

Some hosts strip combining characters on save. The clipboard still holds zalgo; the field does not. Username policies that allow only ASCII reject the paste outright. NFKC can compose or fold some sequences; zalgo is a pile of marks, so results vary. If the look “turns off,” the host sanitized input.

Accessibility: stacked marks are hostile in a screen-reader list. Do not put an emergency instruction in zalgo. We did not measure whether cursed captions change reach. Prefer the zalgo text generator output that still shows the word you meant.
